Through its Wired for Good Initiative, InnoTek is keeping old tech out of landfills and putting usable devices back into the hands of local individuals, families, and nonprofits across our region
BLOOMSBURG, PA (July 21, 2026) — InnoTek Computer Consulting, a leading provider of managed IT services, cybersecurity, and computer consulting for small and mid-sized businesses, partnered with State Farm Insurance Agent, Sean Black, on a two-part Wired for Good technology initiative which included responsibly recycling outdated electronics and donating refurbished, usable devices back to the community. The effort reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to environmental responsibility and community stewardship.
Beyond the direct benefit to local businesses of an easy, hassle-free way to clear out aging equipment, the initiative’s greatest impact may be what was kept out of the waste stream altogether. Every device collected was a candidate for a landfill — instead, each one was routed toward a second life, whether through community donation or responsible recycling. For equipment that could not be refurbished, InnoTek’s recycling vendor safely recycled and repurposed the metals and other reusable materials, while also securely destroying any data remaining on old hard drives.

The initiative began with a broad collection of retired hardware, including outdated networking and communication equipment such as wireless adapters, switches, IP phones, and cordless telephones; entertainment and media devices including a DVR, a multimedia gateway box, and several TV remotes; a variety of cables and accessories such as VGA and Ethernet cables, computer mice, and tablet cases; and miscellaneous office equipment and electronics, from vintage keyboards to a desktop calendar/clock and a weather alert radio. Rather than sending all this equipment straight to recycling, InnoTek reviewed each item to determine which devices still had useful life left to give.
That review identified 35 units — 25 computing devices and 10 docking stations — sufficient to refurbish and donate to the community through Wired for Good. All Windows-based devices have updated operating systems installed and are ready for immediate use.
The donated inventory includes six Dell Micro desktops, two HP EliteDesk Mini PCs, 11 HP laptops, one ASUS laptop, ten HP docking stations, and five Microsoft Surface Pro tablets. These devices are intended to help individuals, families, students, nonprofits, and community organizations gain access to reliable technology resources.
All told, more than 100 items were either responsibly recycled or refurbished and donated back to the community.

Together, InnoTek and Sean Black saw this as an effort to extend the life of quality technology while reducing waste, protecting natural resources, supporting digital access and opportunity, and promoting environmentally conscious practices throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
